Colleagues—
Commencement is in less than two weeks, and we want to provide you with the information you’ll need to navigate campus during commencement events on May 15-16.
Commencement volunteers needed!
Schedule
Campus will be bustling with families and supporters of our graduates on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16. There are no finals scheduled on Friday, May 15; however, students will be moving out of residence halls all week and until Friday morning at 10 a.m.
To avoid high-traffic times on campus, please review the recognition ceremony schedule for Friday and Saturday and make note that University-wide Commencement is 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16.
Parking
Most parking lots will not be restricted during ceremonies aside from closures for ADA parking, which will require passes to enter on Saturday. Graduates and their guests will be encouraged to park in “zones” based on their ceremony locations. Additional details, including lots converting to restricted ADA lots, are available on the commencement website.
Any faculty or staff coming to campus – to volunteer or otherwise – are asked to give graduates and their supporters the gift of parking by utilizing a space as far away as you are comfortable.
Alternative transportation
Transfort’s Around the Horn and MAX buses will run every 10 minutes on Friday and Saturday to enable easier access to campus. There will also be an ADA shuttle and hop-on golf carts supporting intra-campus transit.
SPIN will waive vehicle unlock fees May 15-16 with the code CSUCOMMENCE. Download the SPIN app for a real-time map of available wheels.
Volunteers, marshals, and platform parties
If you have a support role in commencement ceremonies, arrival details will be communicated to you directly via email.
