Good morning, graduates!
CSU’s Spring 2025 Commencement is in one month! If you are planning to participate in commencement in May, this email has some very important information. Please read on.
Two things you MUST DO if you’re participating in commencement events this Spring.
- Pick up your cap and gown (regalia) THIS WEEK! Today through Friday is Grad Fest, where you pick up your pre-ordered cap and gown or purchase regalia if you didn’t pre-order, and enjoy other celebratory activities.
- Grad Fest is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 16-18, at the Iris and Michael Smith Alumni Center, 701 W. Pitkin St., at the northeast corner of Canvas Stadium.
- Your last chance to pick up or purchase regalia will be Senior Send-Off on May 15-16.
- If you cannot attend Grad Fest or Senior Send Off please work with a peer, friend, advisor, faculty member, etc., who can pick up your regalia on your behalf.
- Claim your University-wide Commencement tickets in your student account by April 30. Remember, only guests need a ticket (graduates do not need a ticket).
- If you are having trouble claiming your tickets, reach out to the ticket office: (970) 491-7267.
Also of note: All recognition ceremonies and the University-wide Commencement will be livestreamed – those links will be shared on the commencement website soon, so you can share with your supporters.
More information will be shared with you as Commencement gets closer – including instructions on processional line-up times and locations for recognition ceremonies and University-wide Commencement.
We look forward to celebrating with you next month.
Congratulations!

Addendum: Answers to Frequent Questions
University-wide Commencement tickets
If you RSVP’d to attend University-wide Commencement on Friday, May 16, and need help claiming your tickets, review the following:
- Please first check your email account’s junk folder. We have found that most of the time missing emails have gone directly into the junk folder.
- For help accessing your mobile tickets, visit the instructions website.
- If you still have not received your tickets, please call the ticket office at (970) 491-7267 to receive ticketing help.
- If your University-wide Commencement tickets have the wrong date (ex: May 10), do not worry. These tickets are good for the actual event date – May 16!
- If you emailed to request additional tickets, you will be contacted after May 1 should extra tickets become available.
Recognition ceremony tickets
Please visit the ticket FAQ webpage for more information.
- Most recognition ceremonies are not ticketed, and seating will be first-come, first-served.
- Only four ceremonies are ticketed: 1) Political Science; 2) History, International Studies, and Languages, Literatures, and Cultures; 3) Economics; and the 4) Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
- For ceremonies that are ticketed, detailed information was sent to RSVP’d graduates. If you are a remote/online/distant graduate, please contact your department directly to learn how you can get your tickets.
Parking passes for Friday, May 16
Please visit the parking and transit FAQ for more information.
- If you requested a parking pass and it has not been sent to your account, please contact the ticket office at (970) 491-7267 to receive ticketing help.
- We are only able to provide ONE parking pass per graduate and their guests. We do not have separate parking for graduates.
- For context, on Friday, May 16, there are over 2,000 students taking finals, as well as students moving out of the residence halls, regular research/faculty operations, 10 recognition ceremonies and CSU is expecting 40,000+ guests for University-wide Commencement – and there are only 8,500 parking spots on campus. CSU simply does not have enough parking to provide additional passes.
- We encourage you to check out the traveling planning section of the FAQs on our commencement website for additional ways to get to campus.
- CSU does not have additional ADA spots. Please know we are running ADA shuttles and golf carts to and from parking lots and venues. You can also drop off a guest who has mobility limitations at the venue and then park your vehicle. Please visit the accessibility webpage for more information.
RSVP to participate in Commencement and order regalia
- If you haven’t RSVP’d to participate in this May’s commencement, you can still join the fun! Please complete the RSVP form linked in the For Graduates webpage. Since the deadline has passed, tickets may be limited.
- Good news, you can still purchase regalia in person. The Alumni Association is hosting Grad Fest and Senior Send Off. At these events you can pick-up pre-ordered regalia and purchase regalia in person. If you cannot be there in person, please work with a friend, colleague, advisor, faculty member to purchase and/or pick up items on your behalf.
