Top 5 things you need to know

  1. CAP + GOWN ORDERING DEADLINE IS THIS FRIDAY, FEB. 28: This Friday (two days from now!) is the deadline to pre-purchase a Grad Pack, which includes a cap and gown (also known as regalia).
    • Please note: The Office of the Registrar sent emails earlier this month to students who are eligible for Latin Distinction (different-colored robes).
  2. COMMENCEMENT RSVP: Students must RSVP by April 1 to attend University-wide Commencement and their respective recognition ceremonies.
  3. THE DETAILS: Students and guests should plan to attend two events as part of 2025 commencement. Have you shared this information with your guests?
    • University-wide Commencement is 4:30-6 p.m. on Friday, May 16, at Canvas Stadium. Join the entire graduating class and your guests to celebrate and share in traditions.
    • Recognition ceremonies are grouped by academic unit and held Thursday, May 15, through Sunday, May 18. At these events, bachelor’s and master’s students have their names read, cross a stage and receive a diploma cover.
      • If you’re a doctoral student, the hooding ceremony is your recognition ceremony.
  4. TICKETS: Graduating students receive six (6) guaranteed tickets to University-wide Commencement and may request more via the RSVP form. Currently, tickets are not required for recognition ceremonies; however, locations were determined with consideration of six (6) guests per student.
    • To avoid the need to ticket recognition ceremonies, students are asked to request guest spots respectfully, given the locations were determined with six (6) guests in mind.
    • If you have already RSVP’d and would like to update your form to more accurately reflect your true need, please refresh the RSVP form page and resubmit your information. Learn more about tickets.
  5. MAKE YOUR CHECKLIST: The commencement website has a graduate checklist and a guest checklist. Take a minute to review the site, and please share it with your guests so they have the information they need. It’s time to start planning!

Questions about completing your degree or your diploma?

Undergraduates (bachelor’s degree students) should manage their degree completion and intent to graduate through RamWeb and the Office of the Registrar.

Graduate students should work with the Graduate School to answer any questions they have.

Diplomas are mailed after your academic degree is completed.

If you take away two things from this email: Don’t forget to order your cap and gown by this Friday, Feb. 28 and RSVP by April 1!
