for Colleges

Guest Conduct Guidelines

Prohibited items not allowed in Commencement and Commissioning venues include the following:

  1. Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs carried in by patrons
  2. Glass bottles or metal cans
  3. Ice chests or large coolers
  4. Bota bags or wine skins
  5. Sticks, bats or clubs, including any attachments
  6. Fireworks, firearms or other weapons, or simulated weapons
  7. Bullhorns or other artificial noisemakers
  8. Framed backpacks
  9. Animals other than certified guide dogs for the disabled

Regalia Orders and Distribution — Payment is Cash Only

Students

No advance reservations need to be made. Students, except for doctoral candidates, keep their caps and tassels. Rental costs are as follows:

Bachelor Cap, Gown and Tassel - $20.25
(Includes traditional black bachelor, gold honor and green honor scholar)
Masters or Doctorate Rental Unit - $40.50
(Includes gown, cap, tassel and hood)
Souvenir Tassels — $6.75

The regalia supplier, Unique Recognition, will accept cash only for payment of regalia.

Faculty

Faculty orders are coordinated by each college office. Colleges or departments work directly with the supplier, Unique Recognition, to place faculty orders by using the electronic order form. The deadline for CSU faculty ordering is March 29, 2013.

After 4 p.m., Thursday, May 16, regalia may only be picked up 1 hour before your ceremony. Location: Intramural Gym/East Wing of Moby Complex (Racquetball Courts)

There is no ATM machine in Moby — be sure to secure enough cash before going to pick up your cap & gown.

Representatives from the Alumni Association will be on hand Tuesday-Thursday, selling Grad Packs. Each Grad Pack includes a voucher for free rental of cap, gown and tassel…and more! For more information, go to the Alumni Association Grad Pack webpage.

Regalia Returns

Return of regalia will be immediately after the ceremony to the Intramural Gym//East Wing of Moby Complex (Racquetball Courts). Please note that there may be a charge for late returns. Any late returns should be sent directly to:

Diploma Covers

Graduates receive a diploma cover at Commencement. The actual diplomas will be mailed to graduates six to eight weeks after commencement. For those unable to attend the ceremonies, diploma covers are available in the Registrar's Office (at no charge). Diploma covers can be ordered by calling 491-7159; the postage cost is $5.00 per cover for U.S. mailings.

Announcements, Class Ring Sales and the Grad Fair

Representatives from CB Grad Announcements (announcements) and Josten's (class rings) will be present on February 5, 6, and 7 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the Lory Student Center Flea Market area (outside the University Bookstore) to take advanced, customized orders. After February 7, announcement orders may be placed at www.cbgrad.com or by calling 800-433-0296. Customized orders are returned within seven days of being ordered. Generic announcements (non-personalized announcements) may be purchased at the University Bookstore any time.

The Grad Fair itself, sponsored by the Bookstore, will be one day only — Wednesday, February 6 — in the lower level of the Bookstore.
